  • Connection timeframes

The delivery of field works is dependent on your timelines and the complexity of the required services. We recommend you let us know about your project as early as possible to ensure we can work to deliver to your desired timeframes.

Please note the lead-time from our suppliers for items such as transformers has also increased to 10 months.

New connection, alteration to an existing connection, or disconnection

Process

We recommend you get in touch with us to discuss your connection before starting an application: Network.ConnectionAdvice@evoenergy.com.au

Receive connection advice

Note: not all applications will require this step. Get in touch with us if you’re unsure if this is required.

  1. Submit a request for Preliminary Network Advice (PNA) to receive advice before submitting a connection application or to support a Development Application.
    • Maximum demand calculations and site plans must accompany all PNA applications.
    • Other supporting documents may be required as advised by Evoenergy.
  2. We will send you an invoice for the initial design works as per our Schedule of electricity network charges.
  3. Once you pay the invoice, we will undertake preliminary design works, and provide a sketch plan and connection requirements.

Apply for connection services

  1. Apply for an electricity network connection or alteration once you’re ready for a detailed electrical design.
    • Maximum demand calculations, site plans, single line diagrams, and consumer mains cable details must be provided at this stage.
    • A soil resistivity test report and site survey/geotechnical report is required where a substation is proposed within the block boundary.
  2. We will send you an invoice for the design works as per our Schedule of electricity network charges.
  3. Once you pay the invoice, we will process your application, undertake the design works, and prepare a connection offer.
    • The connection offer will include the connection agreement, sketch plan of the works (including responsible parties), and the invoice for the connection.
  4. Once you accept the connection agreement through the execution of the contract and pay the invoice, we will schedule and complete the works.
    • Once we send you a connection offer, you will have 20 business days to accept it. If you do not accept the offer – the connection won’t go ahead and the process may need to be restarted.
Timeline
  • We will endeavour to respond to your request for connection application within 65 business days from the submission and payment of a completed application.
  • The delivery of field works is dependent on your timelines and the complexity of the connection services.
  • Scheduling of field works cannot occur until a connection agreement has been executed and payment has been made.
Cost

Our charging process for these connections is in our Connection Policy. The cost will vary depending on the type of connection.

Upfront Design and PNA fees are documented in the ‘Fee-based ancillary service charges’ section of our Schedule of electricity network charges.

Please note a PNA does not include a quote, only an application for connection includes this.

Cancellation

If you need to cancel prior to receiving an offer, please contact the Evoenergy Designer you have been liaising with for your connection.
