Power Canberra. Build your future.

Whether you're finishing Year 12, have recently graduated, or are looking for a career change, the Evoenergy Apprenticeship Program offers the opportunity to earn while you learn, gain a nationally recognised qualification, and build a long-term career in the energy industry.

As an apprentice, you'll play a hands-on role in building, maintaining and servicing the electricity network that powers more than 200,000 homes and businesses across Canberra. Working alongside experienced crews, you'll develop practical skills, build confidence and contribute to an essential service that keeps our community connected.

With a 9-day fortnight, competitive salary, allowances, 16% superannuation and ongoing support throughout your apprenticeship, there's never been a better time to start your career with Evoenergy.

Applications for our 2027 intake are now open.

About our apprenticeships

Our apprenticeship program is a four-year, paid training pathway combining on-the-job learning with formal study towards a nationally recognised qualification.

From your first day, you'll be part of a crew working across Canberra and the surrounding region, learning from experienced tradespeople who are committed to helping you succeed. You'll receive ongoing mentoring, practical training and support throughout your apprenticeship, with safety at the centre of everything we do.

We're looking for people who are curious, motivated, enjoy working as part of a team and are ready to learn. No previous industry experience is required.

Which trade is right for you?

Lineworker

Lineworkers build, maintain and repair the overhead network that delivers electricity across Canberra. This includes power poles, powerlines and other equipment that helps keep the lights on for our community.

If you enjoy working outdoors, being active and working at heights, a Lineworker apprenticeship could be the right fit for you.

Cable Jointer

Cable Jointers install, connect and maintain the underground power cables and equipment that supply electricity to homes, businesses and major infrastructure across the ACT.

This trade is ideal for people who enjoy hands-on technical work, problem solving and working with specialised equipment.

Electrical Fitter

Electrical Fitters maintain, service and construct the substations and equipment that support Canberra's electricity network. They play a vital role in ensuring power can be safely distributed throughout the community.

This trade suits people who are interested in electrical systems, technology and working on critical infrastructure.
