Evoenergy is pleased to announce that Ms Rosemary Sinclair AM has accepted an ongoing position as the Independent Chair of the Evoenergy Energy Consumer Reference Council.
In addition to her most recent role as the inaugural CEO of Energy Consumers Australia, Ms Sinclair is recognised for her long-standing contribution to the Australian telecommunications industry and focus on a consumer led energy transition, and has a detailed understanding of infrastructure planning and the impact of technology change.
Evoenergy General Manager Peter Billing said while there were a number of excellent candidates, Ms Sinclair has the right mix of experience to help navigate the next five years as we continue to develop our plan to meet the ACT Government’s target to reach net-zero emissions by 2045.
“We’re at an important point in our network planning where evolving technology, changing consumer preferences and a crucial need to become more sustainable in everything we do is changing the way we operate,” said Peter.
“Although this transition is well underway, ensuring that our customers and community are involved and have their say about our direction is critical, and I know that Ms Sinclair will bring the best of her experience, insight and leadership to guide the Energy Consumer Reference Council.”
“On behalf of the whole Evoenergy team, I’d also like to thank Allan Williams in his role as Chair of the Energy Consumer Reference Council since 2014. Allan has made a lasting contribution to the Council demonstrating an innate ability to provide independence, facilitate objective and informed views, and balance commercial and consumer interests.”
“Our name ‘Evoenergy’ represents the constant evolution of energy, and like our name, we recognise the importance of a continual evolution of our ideas and solutions to ensure the service we provide meets the needs of the community now and into the future.”
“I know that with Ms Sinclair’s expertise, we will be able to ensure that our engagement with the community through the council is purposeful and influential.”
Ms Sinclair will commence in her role as Energy Consumer Reference Council Chair in February 2021.
