On Sunday 14 March 2021, Evoenergy participated in the 2021 Rise Above Cancer Convoy, raising $3,635 for Rise Above to support cancer patients and their families. Rise Above do fantastic work in our community and as a local business, we’re proud to support local initiatives that assist those in need.
Evoenergy Field Asset Manager Paul Withell understands first-hand the importance of continuing to support local charities like Rise Above.
“So many Evoenergy staff have been impacted by this horrible disease—we all know a friend, workmate, relative, family member, or loved one who has suffered through cancer,” said Paul.
“I lost my own father in June 2016 at age 75 to a type of blood cancer called Myelodysplasia, and my mother in-law was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2014. With regular checks and treatment, I’m happy to say that at this stage she is cancer free.”
“This is the 9th year we’ve participated in the convoy, and each year our crews are excited to come out on a Sunday and be a part of such a great community event. To see all the smiling faces on the kids and families lining the streets showing their support is quite overwhelming.”
“The victims and family of cancer sufferers give up so much every day so for us to give up one day each year for this great cause is an honour.”
“I know that the money we raised in the lead up to this year’s convoy will help continue the great work that Rise Above do.”
