Yesterday and overnight, we restored 431 homes and businesses across the Belconnen district following Monday’s storm. All trees causing outages are now cleared thanks to the help of the ACT Emergency Services Agency, Transport Canberra and City Services and our contracted arborists.
This morning, there are 45 customers without power down from around 21,000 on Monday at the peak of the storm, with all expected to be restored by the end of today. Today Evoenergy crews are making repairs to restore 10 customers in Weetangera, the remaining 35 customers affected require service lines to be reconnected one by one including some that also need repairs made to their homes.
Evoenergy has been in contact with customers in this situation, if at any time people are not sure of what they need to do or when crews will be at their property, they can call our Faults and Emergency Contact Centre on 13 10 93.
Storm response status
- Existing incidents: 89
- Customers without power: 45
- 5 new jobs reported since 1.30pm yesterday
We’re thrilled today to know we’re close to restoring power to all customers impacted by the storm, however the job is not done. Over the coming days and weeks there will be ongoing work for our crews to inspect and test other parts of our high-voltage and low-voltage network and ensure everything is operating in pre-storm condition.
We thank the community for their support, resilience, and patience, and we’re grateful for all frontline workers who’ve worked around the clock on some of the worst network damage on record.
The ACT ESA Community Hub at 27 Drake Brockman Drive, Higgins will be open again today from 11.00am to 2.00pm. Bags of ice, charging stations, washing machines, showers and a skip bin for spoiled food will all be available to all customers still without power.
