Update:
Following a series of network outages in parts of Casey, Taylor, Moncrieff, and Ngunnawal, Evoenergy has taken actions to improve network reliability in the Gungahlin area.
We have implemented the following measures:
- Completed essential repairs to address immediate faults.
- Adjusted load distribution on feeder cables.
- Initiated a comprehensive data analysis to identify potential issues and prevent future faults.
Preventing outages and improving network reliability remains our top priority. Since implementing these measures there have been no further outages affecting the same customers. However, unplanned outages can still occur due to various factors, including environmental conditions, network faults, and third-party impacts.
We thank the Gungahlin community for their patience and understanding.

Evoenergy is managing ongoing network faults affecting customers in parts of Casey, Taylor, Moncrieff, and Ngunnawal. Since February, electricity outages have increased in these areas, occurring for a range of reasons and, most recently, exacerbated by the cold weather and increased load on the two main feeder cables supplying power to the area.
Identifying faults on the underground network is complex and requires our crews to locate and dig up specific problem areas. Residents may see our crews around their neighborhoods more frequently as they work to identify and fix these faults. This process may require excavation and could result in further outages so our crews can work safely.
We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and discomfort caused, especially during Canberra’s winter. We understand that some customers have experienced multiple outages this year. We assure the Gungahlin community that preventing future outages and improving network reliability is our priority.
Thank you for your patience.
