Any commercial business and their employees undertaking work on or near our electricity network must be authorised by Evoenergy – as per our Authorisation and Accreditation procedure.

Worker authorisation to work on or near Evoenergy’s electricity network will automatically lapse if an annual renewal is not received prior to the expiry date each year. Evoenergy reserves its rights to deal with and report any unauthorised work undertaken on or near its electricity network to Worksafe ACT, the Utilities Technical Regulator or the Police.

As the Person in Control of a Business or Undertaking (PCBU) making this application, I acknowledge my understanding of Division 4.7.7 of the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 and my duties at a workplace to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that no person, plant or thing at the workplace comes within an unsafe distance of an overhead or underground electric line.

As the PCBU, I will ensure:

A safe system of work that meets or exceeds the requirements of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (ACT) and the Evoenergy Electrical Safety Rules.
Worker(s) have enough technical skill and knowledge to carry out the work.
Audits are conducted for compliance with the PCBU's safe system of work.
Worker(s) recognise network components and understand safe approach distances.
Worker(s) required to work within a safe approach distance are trained in the electrical safety rules on a yearly basis.
I will have systems in place to monitor and maintain the ongoing competency and identification of persons authorised to work on or near the Evoenergy network.
Emergency rescue procedures are developed, tested and practiced so all workers know what to do in the event of an incident.
I acknowledge that company registration and worker authorisations are dependent on mandatory documentation being updated and maintained as required by Evoenergy.
I understand that Evoenergy may at any time review, suspend or cancel a company's registration or worker authorisations.
